Imphal, January 11 2018: The last date and time for filing nomination papers for election of a new MPP president have been extended till 3 pm of January 12 .

Earlier the last date for filing nomination papers was fixed on January 11 (3 pm) .

State returning officer of the election Udoy Luwang said that certain errors have been detected in the electoral roll published on December 13 last year.

The errors have been rectified and the final electoral roll would be published today.

The last date for filing nomination papers has been extended till 3 pm tomorrow on account of rectification of the electoral roll, Udoy said.

So far, six individuals have filed their nomination papers.

They are; interim president O Jugindro, vice-president Y Priyokumar, working presidents M Amutombi, M Saratkumar, central committee member AK Sanaton and L Krishnadas.
