Imphal, April 13 2015 : Four individuals travelling from Guwahati to Imphal were reportedly stopped near Senapati bridge on April 4 at around 11.30 pm, by five individuals who allegedly identified themselves as NSCN-IM cadres, and were brutally assaulted apart from hijacking the vehicle and their belongings.

The individuals assaulted have been identified as Oinam Sanamacha (25), s/o (L) O Komol from Thoubal Athokpam, Moirangthem Santosh (38), s/o M Jugol, Yendrambam Jimbo (27) and Ningthoujam Nabakumar (27), all from Moreh, according to family members of the victims.

The four individuals were reportedly blindfolded and coerced to claim that the vehicle they were travelling was a stolen vehicle.

The hijacked vehicle was recovered from Senapati Bazar on April 9 .

However, one mobile phone left inside the vehicle could not be retrieved.

Family members of the four injured individuals appealed to the authority concerned to ensure safety to the passengers and take up necessary steps at the earliest so that such unwanted incident does not recur.
