KNA(I) refutes PRO (Defence)'s claim

Kanggui, May 02 2014 : Kuki National Army(India) today refuted the claim made by PRO(Defence) through some local dailies on May 1 in connection with the arrest of one self-styled Finance Secretary of KNA(I) identified as Lelen Haokip(25) s/o Letkhomang Haokip of Tujang Lhang, Sadar Hills by troops of Red Shield Division as 'baseless and transparently false' .

In a statement issued by its Information & Publicity Secretary Barrack Kuki, KNA (I) clarified that the outfit has no Finance Secretary in the name of Lelen Haokip so far and added that the claim of the Indian Army is only to tarnish the image of the outfit and create misunderstanding as well as communal feeling among the innocent general public and the outfit.

Barrack Kuki further stated that befitting punishment will be awarded to those individual who misuse the good name of KNA(I) by extorting money unofficially and causing unnecessary suffering to the general public.

According to an emergency meeting of the cabinet held on April 27-28 at Jangmoldingpi Olive Camp, it was decided and resolved that only the letterheads stamped with round seal of the outfit and signed by Finc Kuki, the official Finance Secretary will be utilized from now as genuine letterheads of the outfit, Barrack Kuki informed.
