PFA on rescue drive

Imphal, June 18 2015 :
People for Animals, Manipur in association with Dr Devkishore and staff of Claws and Paws Veterinary Clinic, Imphal conducted a rescue operation of distressed animals of Paraolon and adjoining villages yesterday.
According to a statement, the joint team rescued four dogs and three cats including one kitten from the villages.
With the assistance of Assam Rifles and Tengnoupal police the joint team reached Paraolon village at noon.
The village was dead silent.
Nothing was seen except the deserted houses.
PFA members roasted some pieces of fermented fish to attract the starving pets.
After a patient wait for some time, a cat appeared from behind a house.
PFA expert caught the cat and then performed medical checkup and provided food.
Many groups of domestic fowls appeared later and they were provided food.
The team also freed some cats found trapped inside the houses, it said.
The rescued animals will be handed over to the owners once they are fit and the villagers/masters return back to their homes.
PFA Manipur appealed to all concerned to stop violence and to promote peace and prosperity.
It further appealed to the villagers to return back to their respective homes.
PFA also thanked all individuals who extended assistance to the rescue team.
