Make Manipuri language official: MYFA

Silchar, July 13 2020: Manipuri Youth's Front of Assam (MYFA) has demanded the Assam Government to recognise Manipuri language as one of their associate official languages.

Speaking to media persons during a poster campaign held at Rongpur Part-II, Silchar, Assam, MYFA president Seram Herajit Singh said that allowing Manipuri to be taken as a subject in schools and colleges but not allowing the same for getting Govt jobs in Assam is rather unfortunate.

He then appealed to all Manipuris to support them in their movement.

Secretary-general of MYFA Okram Lakhikanta also said that they will launch different agitations by joining hands with CSOs until their demand is met.
