LJP sets the ball rolling for next Assembly polls

Imphal, April 13 2015 :
President of Manipur unit of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Thangkhamgin on Sunday expressed hope for winning as many as 20 seats in the 60-member Manipur Legislative Assembly for which the next election is to be held in 2017 .
The LJP leader was addressing the media after inaugurating an office building of Uripok LJP unit here.
National LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, who is a Union minister, has been working hard to uplift the needy, Thangkhamgin stated.
The State LJP got only one seat in the last Assembly polls.
"We're focusing on the groundwork to strengthen the party ahead of the ensuing Assembly polls.
The party is expecting to get at least 20 seats in the polls to be held in 2017," the State LJP chief said.
Thangkhamgin predicted a coalition Government after the Assembly polls and assured that the party would do good works for the betterment of the people if it got the chance to get in the envisaged coalition Government.
Launching an attack on the Okram Ibobi headed Government, the LJP leader said corruption was widespread in the Congress- ruled State.
He said, "Officials files are moved on the table only after money is given to employees in all Government Departments" .
Party vice presidents Asharaf Ali and Letjam Singson, and general secretary Kh Rajen were also among the leaders who shared the dais on the occasion.
