Guru Abunghal Dance & Music Centre brings laurels

Imphal, November 04 2023: The Guru Abunghal Dance & Music Centre, Keishamthong Longjam Leirak, Imphal West, has won two awards at the 19th Rashtriya Natya Avam Nritya Mahotsav conducted from October 25 to 29, 2023 .

The institute won second place in both the classical and folk dance in the group category, said a release issued by Guru Abunghal Dance & Music Centre.

For the competitions, the institute showcased Nitee Leela as well as Lai Haraoba in classical & folk dance categories respectively.

Rojita Wangkheimayum, Kangabam Malemnganbi Chanu, Laishram Recika Chanu, Sneha Yumlembam, Khangambam Milky Devi, Bachaspatimayum Dayabati Devi, Naorem Thoithoibi Devi, Thoudam Jamuna Chanu and Thongram Ellin Devi led by Nongmaithem Memcha Devi (Guru/team leader) represented the institute at the 19th Rashtriya Natya Avam Nritya Mahotsav.

During the mahotsav, Nongmaithem Memcha Devi was also presented the prestigious "Shiksha Manishi Ram Avtar Sharma Avm Narmada Sharma Award 2023" in recognition of her significant contributions in the field of Dance & Art.
