Imphal, September 24 2023:
A team of the Youths of Manipur (YoM) held a meeting with the MLAs and Ministers currently camping at Delhi and raised several points so as to bring an end to the Manipur crisis while protecting the integrity of Manipur and the sanctity of its territorial boundary.
25 representatives of YoM held a meeting with the MLAs/Ministers at Manipur Bhavan, Sardar Patel Marg this afternoon.
Rajya Sabha Member Leisemba Sanajaoba was also present at the meeting.
Tabling a number of demands, the YoM representatives urged the MLAs/Ministers to fulfil their demands at the earliest.

After the meeting which went on for quite a long time, the YoM representatives said that they raised several points in line with the collective wish and aspirations of the people, and urged the MLAs/Ministers to work out a concrete solution to the Manipur crisis.
Even though the agenda tabled by the YoM were discussed at length, the meeting could not arrive at any conclusion as Chief Minister N Biren, the head of the State Government, was not present.
The MLAs/Ministers maintained that they could not take decisions on the agenda tabled by YoM without consent or concurrence of the Chief Minister.
Nonetheless, the YoM representatives asked the MLAs and Ministers to call the Chief Minister to Delhi and hold discussions collectively with the Prime Minister and other key leaders of the Government of India so as to bring a solution to the Manipur crisis.
They also asked all the MLAs of both ruling and Opposition parties as well as MPs to come to Delhi and raise a collective voice to the Government of India.
Even though all sections of people have been suffering extreme misery on account of the widespread violence which erupted on May 3, the Government of India is not listening to the people's cries.
As such, representatives of all sections of people shall come to Delhi and raise a collective voice in such a manner that the Central leaders cannot remain deaf, they said.
The YoM representatives said that they would not return until a solution to the Manipur crisis is worked out.
"If the MLAs/Ministers refuse to listen to our appeal, YoM would be constrained to take up befitting action against them", they added.
