One suspect in Sep 3 assault pulled up

Imphal, September 14 2018:
An individual suspected to be involved in physically assaulting AMSU general secretary and harassing his colleagues at Nungba on September 3 has been apprehended by Assam Rifles.
IG (Zone-II) L Kailun informed The Sangai Express that after a case was registered at Nungba police station in connection with the September 3 incident, commandos, Assam Rifles and Nungba police have been carrying out search operations at different places of Nungba and Imphal.
The combined team of police and AR have been working exhaustively which also included collection of intelligence reports from different quarters.
Subsequently, AR troops succeeded in arresting an individual along with arms from Sibilong yesterday who is suspected to be an NSCN-IM cadre and involved in the September 3 incident, Kailun said.
The arrested individual has been identified as one Keishang Kamei s/o Keipisin Kamei of Bhalok village, Tousem sub-division.
One pistol together with eight live rounds were recovered from his possession.
Informing that Keishang Kamei has been already brought to Imphal and is being subjected to further questioning, Kailun said that they are very close to identifying all those involved in the September 3 incident.
Police and AR have been working hard to nab all the culprits and many clues have been already established, he added.
