JSAV to meet TLV in SHDVSM final

Kangpokpi, March 12 2019: J Songtun Area Veteran and Tujanglhang Veteran made it through to the final of the 6th Sadar Hills District Veteran Sports Meet 2019 at M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi after defeating their respective opponents in the semi-final matches staged today.

J Songtun Area Veteran had a narrow 1-0 win over KSC Veteran in the first semi-final to book the final berth.

Hemin Guite scored the only important goal for J Songtun Area Veteran in the 12th minute.

KSC Veteran despite of impressive comeback in the second half with all efforts to find the equalizer failed to turn the pitch around even if they have more chances of scoring.

In the second semi-final match, the favourites Kanggui Veteran had a humiliating 5-1 loss to Tujanglhang Veteran to disappoint its huge fans and settled for the third place match with KSC Veteran.

Tujanglhang Veteran striker Seiboi found an early opener in the 3rd minute while Nehkhogin added another quick own goal in the 4th minute to give Tujanglhang Veteran a 2-0 lead.

Kanggui Veteran answered back positively and pulled back a goal through Jangngam in the 7th minute.

However, Thangboi of Tujanglhang Veteran strike back with another in the 18th minute for a 3-1 first half lead.

Despite of better comeback in the second half, Kanggui Veteran failed to break through the tough defence of Tujanglhang and rather conceded two more goals as Tujanglhang Veteran striker found the net twice, first in the 60th through Thangminlen and another in the 68th minute off a spot kick converted by Hencha to wrap up the game 5-1.The final match between J Songtun Area Veteran and Tujanglhang Veteran will take place on March 15 at M Thomas Ground at 2 00 pm after the third place match between KSC Veteran and Kanggui Veteran and a formal final program.
