Union Taekwondo academy, Keishamthong reasserted their domination in taekwondo by wresting the overall team championship title of the Governor's Taekwondo Cup Championship for six consecutive years today.
The Keishamthong team won the sixth edition of the championship with a total of 406 points, as SAI RC secured the runners-up title on 270 points with CTI, Sagolband occupying the third spot with a total of 215 points.
At the end of the four day competition organised by All Manipur Taekwondo Association at Khuman Lampak Indoor stadium, today UTA topped the competition with 16 gold, 29 silver and 27 bronze medals.
Even though SAI RC claimed a gold medal more than the eventual champions, their collection of only 11 silver and nine bronze medals landed them in the second position.
In all players from 17 units took part in the championship carrying top cash award of Rs 10,000 .
