AIM go top in State League football

AIM, Khabam outplayed KSC, Lambulane 4-1 today to cement its place on top of the points table with an un-blemished record in the 7th Manipur State League football tournament, venue of which has been shifted to Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The win was the fourth in same number of matches for AIM in the 11 team competition.
A powerful attempt by H Dayananda from near the centre resulted in the AIM opener in the 27th mi-nute as the ball hit the inner edge of the cross bar and went in.
The second goal also came in quick succession with N Jimmy's header from an L Gouro pass finding the net in the 28th minute before another hea-der by K Naoton made the scoreline 3-0 two minutes from the interval.
Naoton's second goal in the 64th put the match beyond league debutant KSC's reach, who scored the consolation goal through N Ngulkhosien (69th) .
In the day's other match at the same venue, Khu-rai's USA pipped TRUGPU, Nambol by a solitary goal scored by L Milan from an L Sanatomba cross in the 79th minute.
