Imphal, April 04 2009:
In its meeting held on March 29 last at Majorkhul Community Hall, Imphal the Zeliangrong Tribe Recognition Steering Committee (ZTRSC) has unanimously resolved to play a pro-active role in the coming 15th Lok Sabha Election taking into account the strong desire of the Zeliangrong people to have an elected member of the Parliament who understands and shares the philosophy of united Zeliangrong and above all who will work hand in hand to achieve the long cherished dream of Zeliangrong Tribe to get recognition among the Scheduled Tribes List in India.
A statement of ZTRSC said that the present sitting MP Mani Charenamai does not fit the bill as he lacks the vision for the people while endorsing the move for the separation of the Zeliangrong cognate groups which has been the handiwork of some vested interested.
ZTRSC also earnestly appealed to all Zeliangrong people to exercise their votes to elect the person who understand the sentiment and wishes of Zeliangrong people.
