Imphal, July 11 2014 :
The Roadside Vendors' Welfare Association, Kwairamband Keithel, Imphal, affiliated to National Hoarders Federation, New Delhi, today organised a meeting to discuss on the recently released statement on State's vendors by the Supreme Court.
During the meeting, the cause and welfare for the State's vendors which was initiated by Kshetri Tama Devi, President, RSVWA, in 2002 along with other three thousands vendors were discussed.
It said that it was the outcome of the State's vendors' contribution under the supervision of Kshetri Tama Devi that the Supreme Court passed an exclusive Bill for the vendors in 2014 .
However, the Government of Manipur has so far failed to enact the Bill's resolution in the State.
Laishram Memma, Advisor, State Vendor, asserted that the row between the licensed vendors and the State's vendors was caused due to the lack of efficient policy by the State Government.
Urging the government to check the licensed vendors who have been selling products not registered in their respective licenses, she also appealed to enact the Bill passed by the Supreme Court at the earliest.
