National projects to be banned in Tamenglong from July 15

Frustrated over the state government's failure to supply electricity in Tamenglong district, a public meeting held on Thursday resolved to ban the on-going national projects in Tamenglong district with effect from July 15 .
With expiry of the deadline given in an ultimatum earlier served to the Chief Secretary regarding frequent black out in Tamenglong district, Zeliangrong bodies decided to ban the ongoing national projects including that of Power Grip Corporation and Railways in Tamenglong district from July 15.The meeting which was jointly organised by Zeliangrong Baudi, Zeliangrong Youth Front, Zeliangrong Students' Union and Village Authority Chairman Council Tamenglong further resolved to file a PIL in the high court for investigation in to failure of ensuring proper power supply in Tamenglong district.
Disclosing this to Hueiyen Lanpao, David Kamei, General Secretary of Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) said that the agitation will encompass the rights to enjoy 24 hours power supply and inclusion of one local engineer in the power station.
"The meeting resolved that intense effort will be initiated to make DMG/EE at Tamenglong district", David Kamei said.
The meeting chaired by Thomas Kamei also resolved not to compromise on rampant substitution basis in the power/electric sector, encouraging prepaid system, to organise joint consultation meeting on 15 July regarding New Land Use Policy (NLUP) and to wait the government's response till 25 July regarding the Tamenglong- Khongsang road.
It may be mentioned here that Tamenglong has been reeling under total black out for the last two months.
After a few days of power supply, the current went off from 28 June last leaving the entire district in total darkness, literally.
