Gold worth about Rs 1 crore seized

Altogether 20 gold biscuits worth about Rs 1 crore in the international market were seized from three women passengers at Imphal airport on October 12, said sources.
The three women were bound for Kolkata when alert crew alerted the security guards of the airport on seeing their suspicious behaviour .
On being alerted by the cabin crew, the security personnel of Imphal airport detained the three and on searching them found the 20 gold biscuits concealed in their inner garments .
The three women have been identified as Hemanti Sahu, Sapna Singh and Tumpa Das .
They have been handed over to Imphal Customs Department to verify from where the gold came.
