Shops down shutters during total shut down

Imphal, October 15 2017:
Normal life in the State was affected today by the total shutdown called by CorCom, KYKL and KCP as part of their "National Black Day" observance .
Almost all shops and commercial establishments in Imphal�Khwairamband Keithel, Khoyathong, Nagamapal, Lamlong Keithel, Konung Mamang and Singjamei downed their shutters during the shutdown .
All transport services, including inter-State service, inter-district bus services and other public transport systems stayed off the road .
However, few private vehicles were seen moving on the roads in Imphal area in the late afternoon.
Nevertheless, flight services in the State were not affected .
It is also reported that normal life in other districts has been also affected by the shutdown with reports of major markets in the districts closed and transport services halted during the shutdown .
Mentioned may be made here that CorCom which is a conglomerate body of proscribed militant groups in Manipur has been observing October 15 as "National Black Day" every year down the decades and announced total shutdown on this day as a mark of opposition against the alleged forced merger of Manipur into the Indian Union.
