Imphal, October 18 2020:
L Jayantakumar who was dropped from the Council of Ministers recently has questioned the logic of giving Ministerial berths to ex-MLAs.
Speaking at a campaign meeting of NPP candidate in Wangoi AC Kh Loken held at Govindagram Mayai Leikai today, Jayantakumar asserted that people should not vote for O Lukhoi who would be serving as Cabinet Minister only for six months.
People ought not for vote for the candidate who would be dropped from the Council of Ministers after the by-election, he asserted.
Saying that the by-election scheduled on November 7 is a battle for justice, Jayantakumar appealed to the people of Wangoi AC to sit on the judgement throne.
The man who promised indiscriminate appointment to Government jobs at a time when the State is passing through a critical financial situation should be taught a befitting lesson, he said.
The Chief Minister ought to advise his newly inducted Minister not to make irresponsible statements in public places, Jayantakumar said.
NPP was once a local party but it has now been recognised by the ECI as a National party.
As such, NPP now enjoys the same status as BJP and Congress, he said.
He went on to claim that NPP is now thriving in the North East region.
BJP is a good political party but the actions of its leaders which did not match their own words have ruined the party.
In their attempt to create 'Ram Rajya' based on Hindu philosophy, other religions and faiths are being marginalised, Jayantakumar remarked.
There is a strong indication that BJP may resort to indiscriminate abuse of power in the upcoming by-election, he warned.
He appealed to the gathering to elect the NPP candidate so as to make Wangoi a developed and dignified Assembly segment.
