Tripti tops 2nd KOREA-INDIA Friendship Quiz Competition, wins free trip to Korea

Tripti Khwairakpam, a class X student of Shishu Nistha Niketan has earned top honours in the 2nd KOREA-INDIA Friendship Quiz Competition organised by the King Sejong Institute Imphal to win a free trip to South Korea.
The quiz competition which was held online this year due to COVID-19 outbreak, was participated by 1350 students from 222 middle and high schools from 7 North East States.
Of the total participants, 100 were shortlisted for the second and the final round which was held on October 16 and 17 via zoom.
A month's time for preparation was allocated to the students who have qualified for the finals.
A congratulatory note from the newly appointed Director of the Korean Cultural Center India, Ilyong Whang; a welcome speech by MJ Park, Operation personnel of the King Sejong Institute Imphal and a congratulatory speech by Professor Hyunkyung Lee of the Korean Language Department, Manipur University marked the opening of the final round on October 16 .
The final round consisted of three stages of varying difficulty levels, however Manipur's Tripti Khwairakpam, who is a Class X student of Shishu Nistha Niketan School, managed the top spot with ease and earned a free trip to South Korea.
Meanwhile, Chanchan Oinam (Maria Montessori Senior Secondary School, 10th grade) and Tenzing Chimee Phalungtharpa (Tashi Namgyal Academy school, 12th grade) finished second and third as Kanchan Khundrakpam (Comet School, 11th grade) and Shinthuilung Kamei (Comet School, 12th grade) bagged the 4th and 5th position respectively.
