Culinary mela, free heart camp held

109 Bn CRPF organised culinary festival/mela and a free heart camp at the Battalion's Headquarters in Mongsangei today, under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme.
During the mela, the Battalion exhibited cuisines of different States, said a press release issued by Commandant of 109 Battalion, Vinod Kumar.
The mela showcased culinary practices of different parts of the country like South Indian dishes.
Biryani (veg and chicken), Gulab-Jamun, Samosa, Chole Bhature, Litti Chokha, Pani Puri, Sugarcane juice, Jhalmuri etc and presented to the public and Jawans/officers at the respective food stalls.
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat cultural team showcased cultural programme of various States and Nukkad-Natak displaying socio-cultural richness of the country.
On the other hand, various events like Ring throwing, spoon race, musical chair, football game, magic show, dice game etc were also organised by the Battalion which were enjoyed by the gathering and the participants as well.
Meanwhile, a medical camp/ health check up camp was organised in collaboration with SKY Hospital & Research Centre Pvt Ltd, Manipur Heart Foundation and unit doctors from 9.30 till 4 pm.
DIG (Medical) Dr Ashok Kumar, Commandant Vinod Kumar, CMO Dr Deepak Kumar, DC Kiyam Rajiv Singh, AC KK Pau were present at the event.
A press release issued by coordinator, Manipur Heart Foundation stated that heart OPD, Echocardiography, ECG, Diabetes detection test and medicines were provided for free.
Free Heart OPD was conducted on 50 people, free echo-screening on nine people, free ECG on 33 people and free diabetes detection test on 10 people, added the statement.
Manipur Heart Foundation continued that two individuals were found to have abnormal echo study findings for which they were advised for free assessment at SKY Hospital.
Dr L Shyamkishore, president of Manipur Heart Foundation asserted that the foundation would continue to render free heart camps at different places in the State and appealed to all to take the opportunity of such free services at their door steps.
