Association threatens stir

The Indo-Burma Sugnu Road Bus Owners Welfare Union (IBSRBOWU) has threatened to launch intense stir if the State Government fails to repair the dilapidated road sections of the Wabagai to Chakpikarong and Pallel to Chandel routes.
Speaking to media persons at IBSRBOWU office at Paona Keithel today, its secretary Thounaojam Radheshyam lamented that the deplorable road condition as have posed immense difficulties and hardships to the passengers, bus drivers and travellers along the roads.
The road conditions also increase the chance of accidents and mishaps, he explained, adding that the union has appealed to the Government to do the needful numerous times but to no avail.
In the meantime, demanding immediate repair of the Wabagai Lamkhai to Chakpikarong road, the Kakching Khunou Football Academy and Kakching Khunou Meira Paibi Association began a shutdown/bandh along the said road from today, he said, urging the Government to do the needful at the earliest.
If the Govt fails to fulfil the demands of the association, then intense agitation will be launched, he warned.
