Students protest

Six student organisations namely AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS, have come out strongly against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, terming it as a tool of the Central Government to eradicate the indigenous population of the North East region.
A joint statement issued by the student organisations conveyed that they fully support the ongoing protest by the people in the North East region as well as in various parts of the country against CAA.
It continued that a black flag protest was organised today by the six associations with passenger vehicles plying along Tiddim, Sagolband, Uripok Kangchup, Thoubal, Khurai Tinseed-Lamlong, Sekmai, Wangkhei-Kongba, Lamlai, Pangei, Mayai Lambi etc adorning black flags as protest against CAA.
It further appealed to other vehicles, including private, goods and transport vehicles to carry black flags as well as a sign of protest and showing solidarity to the ongoing protest against the dangerous Act.
