National Youth Day observed all over

The National Youth Week Celebration (12th Jan-19th Jan) of Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal began with the observance of 'National Youth Day' on the 158th birth anniversary of youth icon, Swami Vivekanada at Khangabok Part-Ill Makha Leikai, today.
The programme was jointly organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Thoubal in collaboration with Popular Youth Club (PYC), Khangabok.
The occasion was attended by Moirangthem Manglemjao Singh, Pradhan Khangabok Part-III GP; Saikhom Gopal Singh, co-founder of New Public Hr Sec School, Khangabok and Michael T Mate, District Youth Officer, NYK Thoubal as the presidium members.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to a portrait of Swami Vivekananda and welcome address by K Lokendro Singh, DCAYP Member, NYK Thoubal who highlighted the significance of the various days of the National Youth Week.
Addressing the programme, Moirangthem Manglemjao Singh conveyed his appreciation for the social activities carried out by PYC and allied clubs of Khangabok especially in relation to Covid-19 and blood donation camps undertaken by them.
Saikhom Gopal Singh also spoke on "The Philosophy, Teaching & Life-History of Swami Vivekananda" as an example for the youths of the Nation.
District Youth Officer, NYK Thoubal, Michael T Mate highlighted the importance of water conservation and rain-harvesting and the participation of youths in these projects.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Thokchom Nabakumar Singh, National Awardee Corona Warrior 2020, Secretary of PYC, Khangabok.
National Youth Day was also organised today by the IQAC, NCC and NSS Unit of Thoubal College at Thoubal College Indoor Sports Stadium in Thoubal district.
As a part of the programme, a floral tribute was paid by the teachers of Thoubal College led by Principal O Chaoba to a portrait of Swami Vivekananda and an essay writing competition on the theme "Role of Youth in Nation Building" was also conducted.
Similarly, the Kakching High School 1984 Matric Batch also observed the National Youth Day 2021 on the theme "Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building" at Backward Development Services Orphan Home by distributing books and other stationery items to the children of the orphanage.
The Kakching High School 1984 Matric Batch also donated Rs 5000 to Khunjampat Development Committee to assist the ground levelling work carried out at Kakching Khunjampat ground.
The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Khangabok Mandal also organised the National Youth Day at Khangabok, today.
It was attended by BJP State executive member and social worker Khundrakpam Menjor Mangang; BJP Khangabok Mandal vice-president Dr Romenkumar Khundrakpam; BJP Khangabok Mandal general secretary organisation Ningthoujam Ramananda Singh and other office bearers of BJP Khangabok Mandal and BJP Thoubal district.
Likewise, National Youth Day was also celebrated by Lilong Haoreibi College at the Multipurpose Hall of the College.
Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Professor Amar Yumnam, College Development Council Director of the University Professor Th Ratankumar and Lilong Haoreibi College Principal Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh attended the programme as presidium members.
Life Savers Manipur, Sports Association for Visual Impaired (SAVI), State Blood Cell-NHM, Manipur State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur and JNIMS Blood Bank also observed National Youth Day under the theme "Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building"at the JNIMS Blood Bank, Porompat.
It was attended by Dr Konsam Surjit, MO in-charge of the, blood bank, K Padmakumar Sharma, managing director, Life Savers Manipur and Khundrakpam Premjit Singh, who has donated blood 66 times.
