Accusing Principal of Imphal College T Thoiba Singh of involvement in numerous misdemeanours including financial mismanagement members of Imphal College Teachers' Association shunned from even according a courteous welcome when the incumbent reported for duty today.
Declaring that boycott of the Principal had begun with immediate effect, a release of the Association contended that Government's clearance to Thoiba to join the College as the Principal is ill-timed apart from his not-so convincing track records.
With the BA/BSc examinations underway at the College and Th Lokendro already appointed by the Manipur University as the Officer in-charge of the said exams substituting the exam OC at this juncture would only jeopardise the entire examination process in addition to affecting career of the students, the ICTA release highlighted.
other alleged misdemeanours levelled upon the individual include inefficiency of Thoiba subsequently leading in the failure of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NACC) and reluctance of Thoiba on the matter inspite of repeated appraisals from the teachers.
lack of administrative acumen resulting in absence of academic atmosphere and indiscipline on the part of students, absence of transparency in utilisation of UGC fund, further apprehension of losing 11th Plan UGC fund due to the individual's amateurish approach on the important matter, irregularities in UGC funded construction works, dictatorial and illegal appointments, misuse of 'corpus fund' collection, loss of College property, failure to organise seminars, extension lectures etc are the other alleged misdeeds of thoiba as pointed out by ICTA.
Supporting reinstatement of Th Lokendro Singh as the Principal in-charge of the College, the ICTA also highlighted 'achievements' of Lokendro during his short stint of five months.
