Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal East today remanded three murder accused to judicial custody will three other co accused were released on bail of Rs 50 thousand each.
The six accused in the murder of Naoroibam Heman 30 s/o N Paka of Yourabung Khonou were produced before the Court after the completion of police remand with a prayer for remanding them in judicial custody remand till September 10.The accused are identified as Ningthoujam Achouba 47 s/o (L) Kumar, Laishram Roshan 34 s/o Shyam, Moirangthem Ibomcha 45 s/o (L) Tomba, Laisom Iton @ Nanda 45 s/o Rudra, Konsam Aboy @ Sanatomba 30 s/o Shamu all from Yourbung Khunou and Huidrom Khambaton 34 s/o H Kulachandra of Itam Nungoi Mayai Leikai.
They were arrested on August 23 and 26 August.
Defense counsels of Laisom Iton, Konsam Aboy and Huidrom Khambaton filed a remand objection along with prayer for releasing them on bail.
The IO of the case submitted that on August 21 at around 9.50 am the OC of Lamlai Police Station reported that one Naoroibam Heman 30 s/o N Paka of Yourabung Khonou was found dead on his bed and suspected to be murdered in the intervening night of August 20 and August 21 and an case was registered.
During the course of the investigation accused Laisom Iton, Konsam Aboy, Huidrom Khambaton, Ninthoujam Achou and Laishram Roshan were arrested in connection with the case.
During interrogation they revealed that the crime was committed by Ningthoujam Achouba, Laishram Roshan and Moirangthem Ibomcha and on August 26, Moirangthem Ibomcha was arrested from Chingaren Tezpur.
During the interrogation of one after another they revealed that they are from the same locality and used to mingle most of the time and used to spend most of the nighttime at Yourabung Khunou Lai Lampak community hall and consumed liquor and further Ningthoujam Achouba, Laishram Roshan and Moirangthem Ibomcha admitted to have committed the crime.
They (N Achouba, L Roshan and M Ibomcha) further disclosed that on August 17 at around 8 pm they picked up N Heman (deceased) from his residence on L Roshan's Santro car and brought him to Sawombung Kabui Khunjao field and beat him black and blue by using a tree branch (wooden stick) and later they brought H Heman (deceased) back in the car and dropped him at his gate.
After that on August 19 at around 9 pm three of them went to the house of N Heman and found him lying on the bed without any cloths after which L Roshan took a cloth (Khudei Matek) from the bed and tied it on his neck and took him inside the kitchen and hung him at the kitchen.
IO further said that they further revealed that the next day at around 11 am H Khambaton and L Iton were sent at the house of deceased to check whether the body was still hanging and on the same day at around 10 pm N Achouba and L Roshan went to the house of the deceased and after freeing the body from the rope placed the body on the bed.
The IO also submitted that in presence of civil witnesses the branch tree used in thrashing the deceased was recovered after observing necessary formalities.
Court after hearing the submission of the IO and the submission of defense counsel ordered to release co-accused Laisom Iton, Konsam Aboy and Huidrom Khambaton on execution of Rs 50 thousand and PR bond along with one surety each and remanded the accused N Achouba, L Roshan and M Ibomcha to judicial custody till September 10 .
