Through its illustrious journey from 'Cachar Levy' to 'Assam Rifles', the force has always been selflessly serving the people of the North East and blissfully referred to as 'Sentinels of the North East', said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.
With an aim to continuously assist the people of the North East while spreading the message of peace and prosperity, Sajik Battalion organised the first ever Kana Valley Festival at Sajik Tampak today under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme 2019-20 .
Kana Valley is one of the remotest areas of Manipur, it said and added that the valley has an agonizing history of insurgency and is far from development due to its geographical inaccessibility and poor media coverage.
