Payment of pensionary benefits on the day of retirement plan launched

Education Minister Moirangthem Okendra today launched the ambitious Plan for Payment of Pensionary Benefits on the Day of Retirement in a simple but solemn function held at ZEO's office, Zone-I, Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba Mapal.
For the first time in Manipur, entitled pensionery benefits were handed over to 28 teachers from Imphal West and Bishnupur districts on the day of their retirement in today's function.
Speaking at the occasion, M Okendra said as he had promised to bring about some changes within six months in the Education Department, he initiated the plan to hand over pensionery benefits to the employees on the day of their retirement.
The Minister also urged the employees of the Department to acquire necessary papers in advance so that the plan can be successful.
As the Department invited complaints and suggestions from the general public, Okendra said, the Department has got around 6000 comments through e-mail and website.
The Department would deliberate the comments along with the suggestions collected through the post in a public platform, the Minister added.
The office of SCERT would be shifted from DM College campus to Lamphelpat at the earliest as a new office building is ready at Lamphelpat.
The Minister further said that preparation of seniority list of teachers is currently underway and MPSC would be entrusted to appoint Principals and Headmasters according to the list.
Informing that he had attended an All India Education Ministers conference recently held in New Delhi, M Okendra said, institution of a Central Advisory Board for the upliftment of education system in the country was primarily discussed in the conference.
Successful implementation of Right to education was another agenda discussed in the conference, he added.
State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Th Ibopishak and COTA President T Rameshwor were also present at the occasion.
