Juvenile Justice Board, Imphal West has directed the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU) of Lamphel police station to investigate the death of a Class VI student hailing from Upokpi in Bishnupur district and detect any potential future victims and submit its report to the Board on or before September 7 .
In an order, the Board said that it has taken notice of the news item which appeared in local dailies on August 28 regarding the commission of offence under Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Section 302 of Indian Penal Code.
The case has been registered as JJB Imphal West case number 19 of 2016.Information received from Child Line Imphal said that 30 to 40 minor students are presently lodged at Residential Kids Care School, the order said.
The Board in exercising the power conferred under Rule 10 (b) of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rule 2007 directed the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), Lamphel police station to investigate the case and detect any potential future victims and submit its report to the Board on or before September 7 .
