Imphal, April 26 2021:
The proscribed PREPAK observed the 8th 'Indian Colonialism Resist Day 2021' in commemoration of the Patsoi-Langjing massacre of 1980 (committed by troops of CRPF) and other atrocities committed by Indian military forces upon innocent people of Manipur (Kangleipak).
A statement issued by the outfit's Publicity and Propaganda Secretary-in-charge LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang in connection with the observation remarked that the Kanglei society has been suffering more and more as the alleged many acts of imperialism perpetrated by the alien rule have been growing day by day.
Now the indigenous people of Kangleipak are staring at a very grim future.
As a result of accommodating the unending waves of migrant population which is promoted by a sinister policy of India that appears to be benevolent outwardly is now posing a serious threat to all the indigenous people, it said.
The alien rule has been actively pursuing a malicious policy of igniting a civil war among the indigenous communities of Kangleipak who otherwise were living in peace and harmony, according to the statement.
Even though Indian political leaders have been claiming that India is a democratic country, the true essence of democracy cannot be seen.
On the contrary, India is a country of oligarchy which is driven by the principle of liberalism.
Now the Government of India has started inculcating the ideas of liberalism upon a group of people in Kangleipak.
In the name of democratic rights, this group of people is being drawn to a world of sheer materialism and self-centrism, it said.
The outfit asserted that the only means to save Kanglei society from this contagious malady is restoration of Kangleipak's sovereignty and establishment of an egalitarian society.
Pointing out that human civilization progresses only when education reaches higher levels, the outfit asserted that many people are emerging in Kangleipak who are quite talented in different fields like education, sports, craftsmanship, art etc.
But these talented people are being suppressed and marginalised by the alien rule without giving them any opportunity to expose their talents and skills, the outfit alleged.
There have been several instances where many talented sportspersons were suppressed and marginalised by India.
For all these reasons, it is essential to set up a genuine people's Government in Kangleipak so as to tap the human resources for the good of mankind, it said.
Apart from spoiling human resources, the alien rule has been scheming continuously to exploit and destroy the natural resources available in Kangleipak, it alleged.
Immigrants who have now settled at Jiribam and hill areas have been indulging in extensive deforestation thereby severely upsetting ecological balance, it continued.
On the other hand, there have been numerous instances of innocent people killed in fake encounters, engineering forced disappearances and maiming a large number of people for life through extreme torture, the outfit alleged.
It further alleged that the Patsoi-Langjing massacre of April 26, 1980 was the first of the many massacres committed by Indian military forces which gave an impetus to the revolutionary movement.
It then called upon all the people to stand united with a firm resolve to uproot the alien rule from the soil of Kangleipak so as to avoid such massacres and other acts of repression allegedly perpetrated by the Indian military forces.
The outfit also appealed to all the people to raise the slogan 'Go back IOF from Kangleipak' in unison and enliven the idea of freedom.
