Ahead of June 18, social service conducted at Kekrupat

Ahead of the observation of the June 18 event, the organising committee of the 18th Great June Uprising, Unity Day, in collaboration with Nupina Nupigidamak (a Whatsapp group), conducted a social service at Kekrupat today.
Chairman of the organising committee, Ph Devan, while speaking on the sideline of the cleanliness drive, maintained that many have sacrificed their lives fighting forces which threatened the integrity of the State as well as to protect the motherland at all costs.
The June 18 observation is held every year with the intention to promote unity and brotherhood among all the communities in the State so that they will stand strong and united to protect the integrity of the State.

The place, the State that the people are staying right now would have been lost if not for the bravery and sacrifice of the brave patriots, he added.
Maintaining that such a symbolic day should always be remembered by the people, Devan appealed to all Meira Paibis, organisations, clubs, political leaders, CSOs and the public to take part in the observation.
He informed that over 200 delegates from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Assam, Tripura are confirmed to take part in the observation and urged all to come and pay homage to the brave souls.
Ph Devan further appealed the authority concerned to convert Kekrupat into a place where elderly people can come and rest.
He lauded the Forest Department and the Facebook group which was opened specifically for the observation, for carrying out social service ahead of June 18.One Ksh Babylee (Hiyaileima) of Nupina Nupigidamak expressed happiness to be part of the cleanliness drive.
