MLA condemns blast at residence

Terming the blast of a powerful bomb near his residence as an act of terrorism, Congress candidate of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC RK Anand has condemned the incident in the strongest term.
At the same time, womenfolk have also staged a sit-in-protest today in front of the Congress candidate's residence at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai to register condemnation over the incident.
Protesters displayed placards and festoons reading, 'Guns and bombs will not bring in peace,' 'Demands would not be achieved by exploding bombs at civilian areas,' 'We want peace,' etc during at the protest site.
Taking part in the protest, INC candidate of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC, RK Anand said he had never hurt or harmed anyone.
He said the attempt on his life clearly speaks for itself that the human rights movement in the state has withered.
He said, if seeking justice and protecting the State's integrity through political means were denied, it meant different thing.
He further appealed all concerned not to repeat such acts in future.
It may be mentioned that a powerful bomb had exploded near the gate of RK Anand's Kwakeithel Akham Leikai residence at around 10.45pm of March 3 .
No casualty was reported though.
Meanwhile, a hand grenade was found at the booking counter of Network Travels located at North AOC this morning around 7.30 .
Bomb experts of the State's Police Department have defused the grenade safely later.
