Muslim community living in the State have strongly protested the extension of ceasefire to the soil of Manipur and pledged to fight till their last drop of blood for safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The Islamic Cultural and Research Association, Manipur took the pioneering task in organizing a State level meeting today at Minuthong Hatta participated by various Muslim organizations/associations and ex-MLAS of the community.
The organizations include All Manipur Muslim Organizing Co-ordinating Committee, All Manipur Muslim Meitei Pangals Welfare Association, Kangleipak Muslim Chanura Development Organization, Lilong United Club Organization and UMUDU.
In a statement, the meeting demanded the review of the ceasefire agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) as it affects the interest and sentiments of the people of the State.
It condoled the death of 14 civilians on the aftermath of June 18 CRPF indiscriminate firing, and shared the grief and sorrows of the bereaved families.
The meeting also expressed gratitude to injured Md Fazur Rehman for joining the uprising adding the community is prepared to shed more blood for the State's integrity.
The meeting also resolved to support any movement spearheaded by AMUCO, AMSU, UPF, AMKIL and NIPCO and pledged to hold a public meeting organized by AMMOCOC and KMCDO for forming an apex committee.
