The six powerful bodies-All Manipur United Clubs� Organization (AMUCO), All Manipur Students� Union (AMSU), Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL), National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO), United People�s Front (UPF) and International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA)-spearheading the protest agitations against the ceasefire extension to Manipur today formed a join committee called United Committee Manipur with a view of strengthening the ongoing movement.
Announcing this during a crowded press conference today, a spokesman of the newly formed committee disclosed the various action plans and programmes which would be launched to further intensify the ongoing anti-ceasefire extension agitation.
The spokesman informed the black flags would be hoisted at every household, government offices, educational institutions, private vehicles, local clubs and organizations as a mark of protest against the ceasefire extension to Manipur.
And tomorrow, all the meira paibi lups (groups) in the State would take out a silent march holding torches in their hands in their respective localities.
The spokesman further informed that mass sit-in-protest demonstrations would be staged all over the state on July 7 as a follow up action.
The protest which would be held from 8 am to 4 pm would be organized in every street, localities, village, and on state and National Highways, he announced.
