Governor V Shanmuganathan, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh, Maj Gen SS Mishra, GOC Red Shield Division and IG AR (S) and all ranks of the Assam Rifles have conveyed warm greetings on the occasion of Good Friday and Easter Sunday to all the people of the State especially Christian brethren.
In his message, Governor V Shanmuganathan said that Good Friday epitomises the ultimate sacrifice Lord Jesus made with His life for the good of mankind.
He willingly went to the cross to get rid of evil from this world and His resurrection signifies the triumph of good over evil.
The Lord came to the world to serve mankind and build a world order based on truth, sacrifice, equality, compassion and love.
The Governor urged the people to reaffirm the resolution to follow the path of His preachings to attain a world order free from evils.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Good Friday and His resurrection on Easter Sunday are the manifestations of triumph of good over evil, said Chief Minister O Ibobi in his greeting message.
"Let us re-dedicate ourselves to the noble ideas of love, peace and forgiveness for strengthening the bond of brotherhood and unity among all the people of the State", the Chief Minister said.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh urged the people to do away with religious and communal divides with the celebration of Good Friday and Easter Sunday and strive to attain peace, tranquillity and development in the State.
Maj Gen SS Mishra, GOC Red Shield Division extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Easter.
The GOC urged every citizen of the State to recall the teachings of compassion, love and kindness of Lord Jesus on the occasion of Easter and live in harmony to ensure collective progress of the State.
IGAR (S) also extended warm greetings to people of Manipur particularly Christian brethren on the occasion of Easter Sunday.
