Media exposure tour to Bangkok flagged off

Imphal, March 22 2016:
Chief Secretary O Nabakishore and DGP LM Khaute today flagged off a team of editors for an international media exposure tour to Thailand, organised by Editors' Guild Manipur, from DIPR premises.
A total of 13 editors of print and electronic media from both the hill and valley are included in the first media exposure tour to Thailand in connection with the Act East policy of Govt of India.
Chief Secretary O Nabakishore said the tour will equip editors with better understanding on the Act East policy.

DGP LM Khaute said that the editors will have the opportunity to equip themselves with better understanding of the economic development of South East Asian Nations particularly Thailand through the exposure tour.
Director of DIPR, S Somorjit also attended the flag-off programme.
A Mobi, president of Editors' Guild Manipur (EGM) said that the trip is organised to familiarise and help editors to equip themselves with the changes taking place in neighbouring South East Asian countries.
He said it was the first of series of tours the EGM will be organising with the help of different agencies.
The team will interact with various Manipuri diasporas in Thailand, Mobi added.
