Yaoshang greetings

Governor V Shanmuganathan, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Lokeshwar Singh and others have extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Yaoshang.
In his message, Governor V Shanmuganathan said that Yaoshang, the festival of colours celebrates the very spirit of life and both the young and old take part in the festival with new hopes and confidence for the future.
The festival is full of fun and frolic laced with spiritualism which exhorts one and all to forget their differences and strengthen their bond of love and affection.
Enthused with the spirit of Yaoshang, the young and old alike participate in sports irrespective of age and sex.
The Governor urged all to celebrate Yaoshang in its true spirit with the participation of all communities and strive to make Manipur a better and peaceful State.
"Yaoshang, festival of joy and reconciliation, is one the biggest festivals of Manipur.
The festivity offers an opportunity for all to keep aside our differences and to come together to rejoice life.
May the festival bring love, peace, unity and prosperity in the State," Chief Minister O Ibobi said.
Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh urged the people to strive to stand for the truth, bring in peace and prosperity in the State with the celebration of Yaoshang (Holi).
He also wished that the people imbibe the maxim 'truth triumphs' in its true spirit.
Maj Gen SS Mishra, GOC, Red Shield Division and IGAR (S) and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Yaoshang.
IGAR (South) wished that the festival enhances the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood among the people of the State.
Maj Gen SS Mishra, GOC Red Shield Division in his greeting message said Yaoshang, which is marked by various sports activities in different 'Leikais' of the State should lead to harmony, peace and progress for all the communities of the State.
Manipur BJP Kisan Morcha, Communist Party of India (CPI), All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) have also conveyed warm greetings to the people on the joyous occasion of Yaoshang.
