Imphal, March 04 2012:
A talk programme on the theme 'Science and Spirituality : Two Partners of Sustainable Development' was held today at Manipur Hindi Parishad under the aegis of Cultural Forum, Manipur.
Participating in the programme, Prof Rajmuhon of Manipur University said that more and more people across the world have been researching on science and spirituality.
Human activities can be grouped into two categories.
One is scientific experiment and the other is the perpetual search to define spirituality, moral values and religious ethics.
These two groups of human activities cannot be separated into water-tight compartments.
Saying that scientists have made bombs which can destroy the world 50 times, Prof Rajmuhon asserted that the world can be saved from these powerful bombs only by strengthening spiritual values.
The programme was graced by Cultural Forum Manipur president Dr Sorokhaibam Chaoba, Khumanthem Prakash and Prof Naorem Khagendra as presidium members during which the Cultural Forum's journal Ritu was also released.
