Imphal, August 30 2021: Mobile teams of Committee on COVID-19 Manipur conducted mass awareness drive at various places today to sensitize the public regarding the various preventive measures against COVID-19.The mass awareness drive were conducted at Keishamthong Keithel, Pishum Keithel, Luxmi Bazar Yumnam Huidrom, Mayang Imphal Keithel, Wabagai Lamkhai Keithel, Kakching Keithel, Khongjom Keithel, Wangjing Keithel, Thoubal Keithel, Lilong Keithel and Singjamei Keithel today, said a press release by the Committee.

During the awareness drive, the public were advised to avoid social gatherings of any kind, to strictly maintain SOPs laid by the competent authorities and to get the complete dose of Covid vaccine to contain the further spread of the virus and to overcome the dreaded pandemic effectively.

The volunteers of the Committee also spread awareness to the street vendors on the importance of adhering to Covid SOPs for the well being of all.

Immune booster AYUSH medicines provided by the AYUSH Directorate were also handed over to Khongman Zone 4 & 5 community hall, meira paibis of Ningombam Maning Leikai and Keirak Mamang Leikai Covid Task Force.

The Committee on COVID-19 Manipur which is formed by CADA, UPF, NIPCO, AMSU, UPACO and MAPI Council has been striving earnestly to curb the spread of COVID-19 and to avoid any possible outbreak of a third wave.

Expressing concern over the rising cases of gatherings of people on account of the upcoming State Assembly election and the reckless attitude of the public due to relaxation of curfew and restrictions by the State, the Committee appealed to all not to treat the dreaded pandemic lightly and to adhere strictly to Covid SOPs and protocol to tackle the pandemic effectively.
