Imphal, June 24:
Governor Ved Marwah today paid visit to individuals who sustained injuries in the June 18 firing incident at the RIMS Hospital and Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and enquired about their wellbeing.
However, a flutter was created after the Governor departed without visiting Sorokhaibam Sobita Devi who has lost one leg after she was injured in the firing at the JN Hospital female ward.
Marwah accompanied by Advisor Ram Mohan arrived at the RIMS hospital at around 1.50 pm and visited the patients undergoing treatment at the RIMS Medical ward and Post Operative Ward respectively.
Later he went to the JN Hospital to meet the injured persons admitted there.
However the Governor left without visiting Sobita who is being treated in critical condition after one of her legs had been cut off as he had see off MLA Bihari Singh at the Airport.
Bihari received severe burn injuries in the State Assembly fire.
The members of the Relief Committee opened at the JN Hospital has termed the Governors visit as meaningless as he had no time to listen to the woes of the victims.
It would have been better if the Governor had come either yesterday or tomorrow if he had no time, they said.
Meanwhile, eight members of the Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai Development Association donated blood in favour of the anti-truce movement victims at the RIMS hospital.
Four members of the Health Guide, Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai also donated blood at the JN Hospital today.
