As distribution of relief materials to families in Patsoi AC alone will not be sufficient and can not be sustained in the long run, steps will be taken up to ensure family members of needy family can work from home to earn a regular living.
RK Rameshwar, Managing Director, RK Fortune Developer Private Limited said this during the last day of distribution of relief materials to every family of Patsoi AC today.
The distribution drive was started on June 1 to benefit more than 14000 households in the AC.
During the last day of the distribution of relief material, 1100.families in Sapam Leirak, Thingom Leirak, Khuraijam Leirak and Tongbram Leikai were benefited.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Rameshwar said the relief items distribution was started after similar helps were extended to families in and around containment zone.
The relief material distribution was completed in 15 days and it covered more than 14000 families of Patsoi AC with a view to ease the woes face by the people of the AC due to the restrictions imposed by the Government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the second wave.
The distribution of relief materials will serve as a temporary measure for the daily wage earners who have been hit hardest by the second wave and in order to provide a steady source of income to the daily wage earner, steps will be taken up in the coming days to provide work to them so that they can earn by working from the confine of their homes, said RK Rameshwar.
RK Rameshwar deliberated on the need to strengthen the weakening economy of the state in order to recover better from the pandemic.
In order to strengthen the economy, help will provided to small scale industries, people engaged in handloom and handicraft works, animal husbandry and farmers to increase their outputs and help in strengthening the economy of the state, he added.
One of the most effective means to combat this pandemic is to get vaccinated at the earliest and awareness programmes will be held to educate the people who have doubts about the vaccine to ensure that mass vaccination can be achieved at the earliest, he added.
The rate of vaccination in the state is very low, until now the number of people who have been vaccinated is well below 5 lakh while more than 15 lakhs have been vaccinated in Tripura, he added.
