Distribution of relief items continues

Imphal, June 15 2021:
Distribution of relief items continued across the State by several individuals and organisations in view of the hardships faced by all due to the Second Wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Imphal East
Eastern Clubs Development Organisation (ECDO) distributed edible items to selected households of widows and underprivileged within its jurisdiction today under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) and Imphal East United Clubs Organisation (IEUCO).
Leaders of AMUCO, general secretary of ECDO, Tensubam Kalachand and finance secretary Puyam Ingocha also attended today's distribution programme by ECDO, which is an apex organisation formed by 56 clubs of Imphal East, said a press release by AMUCO.
Heingang
Relief items were distributed to seven Gram Panchayats of Heingang, Luwangshangba m, Nilakuthi, Laipham Khunou, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Kairang Khumidok, Kontha Khabaih in Heingang Assembly Constituency today under the aegis of Imphal East District Magistrate.
The items were distributed to the pradhans of the respective Gram Panchayats by SDO of Imphal East in association with Heingang AC Enforcement Committee on COVID-19 today at Ima Panthoibi Shanglen at Luwangshangbam Makha Leikai.
Speaking on the occasion, Pooja Elangbam, SDO of Imphal East stressed on the importance of COVID-19 Task Forces role amid this crucial situation of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
She continued that the volunteers of the Covid Task Forces have been serving the people selflessly therefore the Task Forces should be strengthened to combat COVID-19 pandemic effectively.
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa
BJP Kisan Morcha, Manipur Pradesh distributed face masks, hand sanitizers, PPE kits, oxymeters and drinking water bottles to Covid Task Force formed by local clubs of Lairenjam Sabal today.
The items were distributed in connection with 'Seva hi Sangathan', 'Mera Booth Corona Mukt' and 'Help Desk COVID-19' campaigns, said a statement.
Former MLA RK Anand, State vice president of BJP Kisan Morcha, Manipur Pradesh Mutum Dineshor, State Secretary Ch Ibohal Singh, social worker RK Biren and workers of BJP Kisan Morcha Manipur Pradesh attended the programme.
Khurai
Pradhan of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai Gram Panchayat Yumnam Ongbi Chitra started distributing essential items to households within the Gram Panchayat from today.
For today the items were distributed to around 400 households in Ward Nos 6, 7 and 8.Speaking on the occasion, Y Chitra said that she started the initiative of distributing the essential items considering the hardships faced by the locals due to curfew and restrictions imposed by the State to contain the spread of the pandemic.
She continued that all the households of the Gram Panchayat will be covered gradually and appealed to all to get vaccinated and to get tested for COVID-19 to know one's Covid status.
Wangkhem
MLA of Wangkhem Assembly Constituency, K Meghachandra started distributing relief materials to households in the constituency.
The MLA along with Wangkhem Block Congress Committee and the Relief Committee will ensure the availability of the.
essential items to around 15,000 of Wangkhem AC.
The distribution of relief items will continue till June 30 .
