COVID-19 negative report mandatory to open shops: CTF Kpi

Kangpokpi, June 13 2021:
With shops likely to open from 7am to 10am on alternate days in Kangpokpi district following the order of District Magistrate/DC Kangpokpi, COVID Task Force Kangpokpi in an emergency meeting today adopted various preventive measures for opening of shops in Kangpokpi town.
Speaking to media persons, Haolet Khongsai, Chairman CTF Kangpokpi said that only those shopkeepers with COVID-19 negative report would be allowed to open their shop following strict Covid Appropriate Behaviors.
He said that the shopkeepers as well as the public should maintain strict Covid appropriate behaviors while adding that Covid Task Force volunteers and police personnel of Kangpokpi PS would strictly monitor the shops to ensure strict compliance to Covid appropriate behaviors.
He also said that around 50 shopkeepers including some youth who went to a picnic party were detained by Kangpokpi police and tested for COVID-19 .
Fortunately, all were found to be negative.
He further said that in order to avoid crowding and to e.nsure the public gets enough time, only the public shall be entertained by the shopkeepers while retailers and wholesalers shall give the lists of their items and the shop owners shall later despatched it to their respective place by hiring vehicles for which the fare should be bear by the retailers/wholesalers.
CTF Kangpokpi Chairman also said that vegetable sellers at Nute Kailhang including door to door vegetable sellers must obtain COVID-19 negative report.
He also appealed to the public to avoid panic buying as the shops shall be open for three hours on alternate days and strictly follow Covid appropriate behaviors.
Meanwhile, the Covid Task Force of Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi, Kalapahar, Keithelmanbi, Santolabari-Prasain, Tujang and Irang area also embarked on mass testing of shopkeepers in their respective areas, disseminating Covid awareness and appropriate behaviors, visiting Home Isolation patients and taking stock of their situation, vaccination awareness, etc.
