Imphal, April 25 2015 :
The proscribed PREPAK is observing the 2nd 'Indian Colonialism' Resist Day tomorrow at its Chqs, Ghqs, Thqs, transit camps and other offices in protest against the alleged savagery shown by CRPF at Patsoi Langjing on April 26, 1980 and other incidents of excesses commi-tted by Indian military forces in Manipur.
By imposing draconian laws like AFSPA, Indian military forces have been committing genocides as well as isolated killings in their efforts to suppress the liberation movement, said a press release issued by the outfit's publicity and propaganda assistant secretary Leibak-ngakpa Luwang.
Apart from the Patsoi Langjing incident where CRPF killed four civilians, the outfit listed some other infamous incidents such as the Oinam Leikai incident of November 21, 1980 where four civilians were shot dead by Indian military forces, Heirangoithong incident of March 14, 1984 where 13 civilians were shot dead by CRPF, Senapati district's Oinam incident of July 11, 1987 where the entire village was burnt down in addition to killing 15 people, Sagol-band Tera Keithel incident of March 25, 1993 where Assam Rifles shot dead five civilians, Makui (Tamenglong) incident of July 28, 1994 where four people were killed by troops of 31 AR, Nungkao incident of September 25, 1994 where troops of 13th Sikh Light Infantry killed four people.
RIMS incident of January 7, 1995 where CRPF shot dead nine people, Bashikhong incident of February 19, 1995 where CRPF killed three people.
The list also includes the Ukhrul incident of May 9, 1995 where AR troops killed three people, Tabokpikhong incident of August 12, 1997 where five people were killed by 7 AR, Nungleiban incident of October 15, 1997 where the Indian army killed nine people, Tonsen Lamkhai incident of September 23, 2000 where 10 people were killed by Indian military forces, Churachandpur incident of July 21, 1999 where CRPF killed five people, Malom incident of November 2, 2000 where 10 people were shot dead by 4 Assam Rifles and the killing of Thangjam Manorama on July 12, 2004 by AR troops.
In addition to these infamous killings, many people were also eliminated by Manipur Police in fake encounters.
The Patsoi Langjing incident is one offensive which successfully ignited a strong sense of nationalism among the people of the land.
At round 9.15 am of April 26, 1980, some cadres of the Red Army attacked a CRPF team and killed two CRPF personnel at Langjing Chingkhong and confiscated two rifles.
In reprisal, CRPF troops stationed at Langjing shot dead four civilians including a pregnant woman in addition to inflicting bullet injury to another civilian.
They tortured a number of civilians including women and children, young and old alike.
They also raped women in front of their family members.
To inform the whole world and document the colonial character as displayed by their military forces at Patsoi Lamkhai, April 26 would be observed as 'Indian Colonialism Resist Day', it added.
The outfit further called upon the masses to launch a collective campaign with the slogan "Go back Indian military forces" .
