Govt issues advisory for Yaoshang

Imphal, March 19 2021:
The State Government has issued an advisory for preventive measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 during Yaoshang Festival.
An office memorandum jointly signed by Bobby Yaikhom, Commissioner YAS and V Vumlunmang, Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare, V Vumlunmang has directed prohibition of all forms of contact sports events, maintenance of separate entry and exit point and make hand washing facilities, face masks available during sports events.
The office memo also urged all participants and spectators to wear face masks and maintain social distancing throughout the event.
It also said that children below the age of 5 should not be allowed to participate in the events and complete sports events and prize distribution before 6 pm on all days.
The size of crowd should also be restricted to a maximum of 100 people and conduct of musical concerts and other forms of entertainment which may result in crowding are also prohibited.
Clubs and organising committee are also asked to dedicate a Covid Task team to regulate the advisory.
The advisory also prohibited road blockade with or without ropes for monetary subscription.
For torch lighting relay at Kangla or other locations, a maximum of 20 persons are allowed to carry the torch till Kangla and only 5 persons are allowed to go inside Kangla.
Movement of overcrowded vehicles are also restricted.
