Imphal, October 09 2017:
Taking strong exception to the failure of the incumbent coalition Government to implement the 7th Pay after BJP promised the same in its vision document published in the run up to the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, employees of the State Government have lined up a series of agitation .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Manipur Government Services Federation general secretary Purujit Lairikyeng-bam said that they would carry out departmental awareness campaign from October 10 to 24 .
Employees would take mass casual leave on October 25.Department-wise sit-in-protest would be staged on rotational basis from October 26 to 31.This would be followed by cease work strike on November 2, Purujit said .
The federation's president Dr Maibam Rajendra pointed out that the 7th Pay has been already implemented in most States of India .
However, in spite of the federation's repeated appeals and reminders to implement the 7th Pay in the State too, the State Government has not yet initiated any step toward this effect, he decried.
