Training on mushroom cultivation held

Imphal, October 05 2021:
A two-day training programme on 'Mushroom Cultivation and Its value addition' conducted by Directorate of Research of Central Agricultural University (CAU) under the sponsorship of Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad commenced from Tuesday at BalVidya Mandir, Palace Compound here.
The inaugural function hosted by Vidya Bharti Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Manipur, Was attended by Samiti president Yumnam Khogen as chief guest, secretary Dr Maibam Chowra -jit as guest of honour and Directorate of Research, CAU deputy director Dr Th Robindro as president.
In all, 50 trainees from various districts are taking part in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Robindro expressed confidence that the training programme will provide huge benefit to the many educated youths of the state.
During the programme, trainees will be taught on how to cultivate mushrooms, increase income and value addition, in addition to producing various other products which would be preferred by the people.
He also said that CAU will extend all possible help to trainees who successfully complete the training and want to start own business on the same.
