Covid claims 3 more, 157 new cases logged

Imphal, October 05 2021:
The cumulative figure of Covid positive cases in the State has risen to 1,21,303 with the addition of 157 cases in the last 24 hours while the death toll has mounted to 1,871 with 3 more Covid deaths (all from Imphal West) reported in the same period.
The daily test positivity rate updated on Tuesday for the 2,681 samples tested in the past 24 hours by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is 5.9 percent against 5.1 on Monday.
The 157 fresh Covid cases which include 10 CAPF personnel were confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (37) and other testing centres (112) .
The positive cases from the general population, on the other hand, are from Imphal East (25), Imphal West (99), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (3), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (1), Pherzawl (2), Tengnoupal (2) and Tamenglong (1) .
Among the districts, Imphal West saw the highest daily test positivity rate with 10.1 percent in the last 24 hours.
The 3 deaths, on the other hand, are also all from Imphal West and with this addition the total figure of Covid death has increased to 1,871 .
Of the three deceased, 2 had taken the 1st dose of Covid vaccine.
In the meantime, 131 persons were discharged after recovery from Home Isolation (53), RIMS (2), JNIMS (12), CCCs (61) and CHICs (3) today, but the recovered cases is considered 632 as 501 persons were reported as discharged cases only today, said the Government bulletin.
With the recovery rate improving to 97.4 percent against 96.64 updated on Monday while the active case has decreased to 1,724 including 31 CAPF personnel.
The active cases as on Monday was 2,202 .
As per the statement, the State Government also distributed 659 D-type and and 64 B-type Oxygen cylinders to different health facilities in Manipur in the last 24 hours and administered 11,323 Covid vaccine doses on October 4 .
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 201; ICU/HDU beds 24), JNIMS (general beds 49; ICU/HDU beds 14), CMC Koirengei (general beds 27; ICU/HDU beds 08), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 57; ICU/HDU beds 38) and Raj Medicity (general beds 72; ICU/HDU beds 23) .
