Veterinary and AH employees to postpone their agitation

All Manipur Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Field Assistant Employees Union has decided to postpone their move to shutdown all the veterinary hospitals and dispensaries including livestock farms till June 11.The union in a press release stated that the decision has been taken in the interest of the general public considering the restrictions and curfew imposed by the Government due to COVID-19.It may be mentioned that the union decided to launch a series of agitations urging the Government and authorities concerned to address their various grievances.
The Union also reiterated that a veterinary doctor should be appointed to the post of MVS (Grade I) Director of Veterinary as per the service rules.
Further the Employees Union expressed displeasure of acquisition of Departmental Land every time in the name of development for other departments.
Also the union urged the Government to consider the services rendered by Para Vets/Veterinary doctors of the Department as that of other front line workers since they are highly susceptible to getting infected with COVID-19.Lastly the Union expressed their gratitude to the Thoubal District Veterinary and AH Grade III and IV Employees Union, Thoubal and other NGOs for their support towards the activities of the union.
