Imphal, August 25 2021:
Manipur Secretariat Services' Association (MSSA), which has been on indefinite cease work strike since August 17, has cautioned that it would intensify the agitation until their demands are honoured.
The Association announced its stand to continue the agitation in a more vigorous manner after a delegation of its action committee and representatives of Manipur Secretariat Non-ministerial Drivers' Association had meeting with finance minister Y Joykumar on Wednesday.
It said as the minister gave no assurance and expressed inability to honour their demands, the Association is left with no choice but to intensify the agitation.
It also condemned the absence of chief secretary, who is also in-charge of finance, during the discussion.
The MSSA and Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) are on cease work strike since August 17 demanding hike of dearness allowance (DA) from the present 7 per cent to 28 percent.
They are also demanding promotional vacancies to be filled up at the earliest.
However, the Association expressed gratitude to BJP state president A Sharda Devi for giving assurance to consult with authorities concerned to address outstanding issues besetting the government employees.
