AIFUCTO demands inclusive 'National Vaccine Policy'

Imphal, May 18 2021:
All India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisation (AIFUCTO) demanded an inclusive 'National Vaccine Policy' and deferment of implementation of NEP-2020 .
In a statement issued today, AIFUCTO said an inclusive vaccine policy should be implemented after due consultation with all the stake holders including the state Governments.
AIFUCTO also demanded vaccination of all teachers, employees and students of institutions of academic learning from KG to PG on priority basis.
Regular salary and medical benefits should be given to all part time, adhoc and contract teachers at par with permanent employees during the present crisis and all types of collection from students should also be exempted during the pandemic, added the statement.
AIFUCTO also draw the attention of UGC to declare closure of all academic institutions including suspension of online examinations and classes till 30th June.
AIFUCTO also demanded deferment of implementation of NEP for atleast one academic year and utilize the time period to have discussion with all the stake holders including AIFUCTO.
The statement also condemned the proposed action of closing down of more than three hundred affiliated aided college in Andhra Pradesh and facilitate the entry of market forces in a big way to destroy the public funded education.
